The four paws family grows again

Introducing our newest member of the UK team

6.1.2022

It's always a pleasure to bring someone new onto the team and and we're taking the time to introduce Sophie Miller, our new Press & Marketing Officer. Here's what she had to say about her love for animals and joining the FOUR PAWS team:

Animal welfare is a cause I have been passionate about for as long as I can remember, but a moment or ‘shift’ really sticks out in my memory when I consider my journey here.

At 14 years old, I remember being shown a short video clip in my year 10 English lesson. It was short, but impactful. Illustrating immediately the abject cruelty that animals face across the globe. The harrowing sound of crying, tortured dogs, the vulgar sight of thousands of male chicks deemed ‘useless’ being sent to slaughter. I sat in tears at the back of the room, unable to comprehend what I had seen but knowing it had to change.

Animal Charity

From then on, I began being a vocal advocate for animal adoption, embracing a more plant-based diet and volunteering in animal shelters. I believe that real change can come from every single one of us making these manageable and conscious choices.

Having worked in communications and PR in the charity sector for a number of years, I am so excited to be able to bring my passion for animal welfare to the heart of my work.

Animal Charity

I have always been in awe of the vast catalogue of work that FOUR PAWS has undertaken globally and feel so lucky to be a part of the team. I can’t wait to share more of that incredible work, and ways in which you can help and make a difference.
